I Don't Like My Smile, Can You Make it Better?

Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry have similar function, but with restorative, our team focuses on the functionality of your teeth to ensure that you can properly eat, speak and smile.

Restorative and cosmetic dentistry actually overlap each other, as both at times will utilize crowns and implants for teeth restoration as an example, the main difference between the two is the procedural focus. The cosmetic dentist is one who goes beyond the restoration process to further enhance your smile. At South

Coast Metro Center for Dentistry & Implants we have the best of both worlds -- specialists in restorative and cosmetic dentistry to fit your needs, wants and desires.

Our goal is to help you "Find Your Smile and Brighten Your World". Give us a call 714.942.2447 to improve your smile today!

  • Tooth-Colored Dental Fillings – If you’re experiencing dental pain or sensitivity, you may have a cavity. We can quickly solve the problem with a simple tooth filling that will match the rest of your smile!

  • Dental Implants – To replace missing teeth, we offer sturdy dental implants. These are a reliable alternative to dentures, which can slip out of place, or dental bridges, which require adjusting healthy teeth

  • Dental Crowns & Bridges – Our zirconia and porcelain crowns can be used to protect any damaged teeth. We can also use crowns to create bridges that replace a single missing tooth or a row of teeth. We use only the highest quality materials for the best results

  • Root Canal Therapy – Oral pain and sensitivity may also be due to damaged tooth pulp. If that’s the case, we can perform a root canal to eliminate the infection and relieve any pain

I Have a Small Hole on the Surface of My Tooth, Help!

Fillings are designed to seal off small voids on the tooth surface. If unattended, food particles and harmful bacteria can access the interior of the tooth and cause serious damage. Once the filling has been placed, the tooth will be protected and its structure and integrity will be returned to normal.

At South Coast Metro Center for Dentistry & Implants, we take great pride in providing dental filings that utilize the highest-quality materials. These materials leave teeth strong and durable, helping to ensure that they will remain in good health for many year to follow. If you are suffering from a cavity, a dental filling may be able to restore the health of the tooth. We offer both tooth-colored composite fillings and traditional amalgam fillings.

Why Do I Need to Have a Root Canal?

There are many clinical reasons for needing root canal treatment, but there are also countless practical reasons why saving the natural tooth is a wise choice. Endodontic treatment helps you maintain your natural smile, continue eating the foods you love and limits the need for ongoing dental work. With proper care, most teeth that have had root canal treatment can last a lifetime.

There are two likely causes that require root canal; tooth fracture and/or very deep cavity, both which can cause a tooth to rot from the inside. If this occurs, you may experience swollen gums, intense toothache and temperature sensitivities.

Utilizing specialized dental tools, our South Coast Metro Center for Dentistry & Implants team of Endodontists will access the interior of the tooth from the top. This will allow us to begin removing any decay and infectious material. Once completed, a medicated filling material is used to ensure that the tooth will remain healthy, and finally a dental crown is installed on top of the tooth to prevent any fractures or injuries from occurring and provide the tooth with a healthy natural appearance. A properly cared for restoration will remain strong and intact for life.

Enjoy eating anything and smiling again. Let or board certified Endodontists help you "Find Your Smile and Brighten Your World". Call today 714.942.2447 to improve your smile!

I Have a Damaged Tooth, Do I Need a Crown, Bridge or Both?

SCMcrown 2.jpg
SCMcrown.jpg

Dental crowns and dental bridges are big parts of restorative dentistry. A dental crown covers the entirety of a damaged tooth to provide extra strength and an improved appearance. Crowns may also be placed on implants for a natural tooth-like shape and function. Crowns may be made of porcelain to match natural teeth or made from gold and metal alloys, acrylic or ceramic.

Benefit of a crown:

  • Protect a damaged tooth from fracturing

  • Replace a filling

  • Restore a damaged tooth

  • Attach a bridge

  • Cover a misshapen or discolored tooth

  • Cover an implant

  • Cover a tooth after root canal treatment

Dental bridges are fixed or removable prosthetics which replace missing teeth. Natural teeth, implants or a combination of teeth and implants can support a dental bridge. Traditionally dental bridges are placed by creating a crown atop a tooth or implant on each side of the gap made by a missing tooth. A false tooth or teeth is then placed between the crowns, filling the gap.

With proper dental care, crowns and bridges will last an average of five to seven years.
