Our Approach to Restorative Dentistry

We deeply value the natural strength and integrity of your teeth. Whenever possible, our approach to restorative dentistry prioritizes conservative treatment options designed to preserve healthy tooth structure.

By focusing on minimally invasive solutions first, we aim to protect the long-term health, function, and durability of your natural teeth. Thoughtful, conservative care often leads to stronger outcomes and greater longevity over time.

Our goal is not just to repair teeth — but to restore them in a way that supports lasting oral health.

Mission

A traditional filling is made from a durable composite resin material that is carefully placed into the tooth after any decay has been removed. The material is then shaped to recreate the tooth’s natural anatomy, bonded securely using a dental adhesive, and hardened with a specialized curing light to ensure strength and stability.

Our team uses high-quality materials designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth for a beautiful, long-lasting result. Each filling is placed with meticulous attention to detail. We carefully layer and sculpt the material to maximize strength, function, and longevity

— because every step matters when it comes to restoring your smile.

Vision

As composite resin hardens, it undergoes a small amount of shrinkage — similar to how a sponge shrinks as it dries.

The larger the filling, the more shrinkage can occur. Over time, this can create microscopic gaps between the filling and the natural tooth. These gaps may allow bacteria to enter and can place additional stress on the remaining tooth structure, increasing the risk of sensitivity, fractures, or recurrent decay.

Porcelain restorations behave differently. They are fabricated outside the mouth and bonded to the tooth once fully formed, so they do not shrink in the same way during placement.

When a traditional filling may not be the most suitable option, our team takes the time to review our findings with you. We carefully explain how different materials affect the strength of your tooth and why minimizing internal stress is important for long-term stability.

For teeth requiring larger restorations, porcelain is often the most predictable long-term solution. It helps protect the remaining tooth structure, distribute biting forces more evenly, and support lasting oral health.
